First Aid/Medical

This three bedroom apartment is nothing exciting. The inside is a decade or two more modern than the outside at least, but drab. Beige floors, off white walls leaves the place looking a bit institutional. At least the previous occupant tried to liven it up a a bit with modern furnishings.

The kitchen is divided from the living room by a breakfast bar and a window lets in light from outside. Three furnished bedrooms and bathroom lead off the living room.

Two bedrooms are used for patients, the third for the doctor on duty. The two patient rooms are furnished sparsely with three twin beds each and several candle heaters to keep the rooms warm in the cold of fall and winter as well as to provide needed light. A small nightstand sits next to each bed with an additional lantern for light.

She said she was going to leave, but nope, that hasn't happened yet. Instead ever since the attack she has spent a lot of time in the infirmary and sleeping there as well. It's what she has always done when Quin has been injured, the first time he was shot, she was there, same with the two concussions, she is not going to change her behavior now, because despite the new information that she has shared, she is still the same person. She hasn't changed, just people's knowledge of her. She isn't at his bedside at the moment, but instead stands at the counter in the kitchen area using a mason jar lantern to warm water so she can soak some willow bark and prepare a herbal tea for both pain and to reduce fever. As she waits for the water to warm she strips the inner parts of the bark and drops them in the water to soak, humming to herself as she does so.

Kayla hasn't left the infirmary since she arrived with her brother when he was shot. She hasn't figured out how he's managed to be shot HOW many times, while she herself is virtually undamaged in any way. For once, she hasn't left his side (most times, after the worst is past, she will at least go sleep in her own bed, or bath…not this time). She has hardly spoken to Piper - while she hasn’t been hostile she also hasn't been the easy going, cheery comrade she used to be…things - have- changed, she's just not sure how yet. And ignoring it is easier than dealing with it right now

Dropping the rest of the inner bark into the cup, Piper will just let the water do its work in leeching the medicinal properties from the willow while the cup sits on the lantern. The humming stop as she moves to the doorway, watching Kayla, watch her brother. She's having a good talking day today, but she hasn't done much of it. That is until now "I'm staying." just in case Kayla thought she was just hanging around to see in Quinton would be okay "For good." this whole situation has had her thinking "If someone is worth living for, dying for, they're worth fighting for too. Right?" she recalls telling Kayla that once, that her and her brother were that to her, much has changed but that hasn't.

Kayla starts slightly as she hears Piper speak, and her head swivels around to eye the other woman. "I told Quin you were leaving." she answers quietly after a moment's consideration. She looks at Piper, silent, before she nods to a seat a short distance away. "Don't hover."

Piper nods "I know. He asked when, before.." she gestures to him, meaning before he was shot..how soon before though is left unsaid. She has been trying to give Kayla space, but she worries the longer this goes the harder it will be to patch up..if it can be. At the invitation she enters the room, bringing her pack with her, instead of the chair she sits on the edge of the other empty bed and pulls a neatly folded sweater from the backpack "I found…today." it's a good day, but words are still dropping "Two new people also." she offers the sweater out to Kayla, knowing the one her brother was wearing when he was shot is ruined.

"He wanted a new sweater," Kayla seems to be reading Piper's mind as she motions for her to set the sweater down. "I'm sure he'll appreciate it." she murmurs before reaching for his hand, though she keeps her touch light so as not to wake him.

Getting up briefly she sets the sweater at the foot of Quin's bed "Dinner.." a gesture is made toward the outside "ready. I'll go. Get us food." she'll fetch it this time, though usually she has to be reminded by Eli that she should eat something. Not really expecting an answer, or waiting for one she turns to head out to go get food. They won't do the poet any good if they starve themselves.
